Remembering the poet’s maxim “Life is the art of encounter, even though there is so much disagreement in life” (Vinicious de Moraes), I take it as a motto to introduce myself and the way I work.
I am a Clinical Psychologist, with a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling and Psychotherapies since 2008. I did my internship at AERS Almada, worked in IPSS’s in Lisbon, the Chelas, Olaias and Seixal School Groups, as well as in private practice.
I see psychotherapy as a space and time designed to create the conditions that enable the art of encounter – with oneself, with others, with the desire to grow with the world, with life. In this sense, I specialized in the field of Psychosomatic Medicine, looking at the individual as a whole, soma and mind, inserted in an ecobiopsychosocial system.
So I’m pleased to say that, according to the doctrine of psychoanalysis and psychodynamic theory on which my clinical work is based, I understand relationships as emotional, immunological and neuroendocrine regulators, being inscribed in a relational dynamic – resolving the psychosoma presented by the individual means looking within for the healthiest inner recesses, reconnected with stronger bonds.
My areas of expertise range from psychological assessment to psychological support for children and adolescents, psychological support for adults, parental/family support and vocational and professional guidance.
Aware that the weight of normative reality stifles the development of the imaginary and the symbolic, I believe that therapy is a space for deep listening and transformation – opening the window to our inner world, allowing for discovery, understanding and resignification.
Through a deep dreamlike dive, we can build a new narrative.
