I have a master’s degree in clinical psychology and specialize in the psychology of pregnancy and parenting.
I’ve been a Clinical Psychologist since 2011, when I completed my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at the Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada – ISPA and my Advanced Specialization in Pregnancy and Parenting Psychology.
Throughout my academic career, I have tried to deepen my knowledge and acquire new experiences, which I was able to do by attending the University of Salamanca.
In 2010, during my curricular internship, I had the opportunity to experience the hospital setting – Maternity, where for over a year I carried out psychological assessments and support for children and pregnant women.
This work motivated me to understand that psychology offers women who want to become pregnant, who are pregnant, or who are already mothers, a space to talk about their emotions, doubts and fears and provides support for understanding their new maternal social role, helping them to build their identity as mothers.
My interest in this area led me to take the Advanced Specialization in Pregnancy and Parenthood Psychology.
In 2012, I worked at the Resource Center for Inclusion (CRI), once again carrying out psychological assessments and support for children and adolescents, with a special focus on special educational needs.
Alongside this experience, I trained in Psychological Assessment of Drivers at the Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada, which is also one of my areas of expertise. I am currently an Effective Member of the Portuguese Psychologists’ Association.
In addition to my skills as a trainer, I also dedicate myself to private practice, either by carrying out psychological assessments or by providing support, believing that this work will make a substantial difference to the lives of those who seek it, because although it is not possible to change the story of one’s life, it is possible to change the way it is told.
In my work I use the dynamic perspective, since the person is seen as a whole, not just considering symptoms and current circumstances.
