I have a degree in Clinical and Health Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra.
My training includes an Integrated Master’s Degree in Psychology with a specialization in Psychopathology and Dynamic Psychotherapies.
I currently work as a Junior Psychologist in a clinical setting, and I am a member of the Portuguese Psychologists’ Association. I also collaborate in scientific research with the Trauma Observatory of the Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra and I disseminate, inform and bring people closer to the area of mental health through posts on social networks that aim to establish an association between characters from films or series and psychological phenomena that are still in the process of being destigmatized.
During my career I have developed a keen interest in the subject of psychological trauma and the various facets it can take on, based on psychodynamic and psychoanalytic literature and approaches.
My research has focused on this topic and its association with relevant symptoms, namely post-traumatic stress, adverse childhood experiences, depression, anxiety and resilience.
In a clinical context, I work with adolescents, young people, adults and seniors, focusing on various pathologies and areas of interest, such as depression, anxiety, psychological trauma, psychosomatics, post-traumatic stress, fears, insecurities, the development of self-knowledge, resilience and post-traumatic growth.
I consider it essential to constantly update myself on new developments in the field of psychology in order to provide the best scientifically validated care to those I work with.
As well as lectures, workshops and webinars, I have completed the Intensive Child Development Assessment Course (ReConstruir), the Psychological Intervention in Situations of Domestic Violence Course, Psychological Intervention in Problems Related to Alcohol and Psychological Intervention with LGBTQ People (Portuguese Psychologists’ Association).
I am currently attending the Training Course in Psychotraumatology (Observatório do Trauma) with future access to the European Certificate in Psychotraumatology (ESTSS).
In my clinical practice, I see each person, each story and each life as unique and I dedicate myself to responding to the specific needs of those who come to me through personalized support tailored to each person.
The psychodynamic approach allows us to work at the root of the problem and develop lasting long-term effects.
In each therapeutic process my aim is to give the person freedom and new possibilities, always seeking to achieve their best version, and to build a safe haven to which they can return whenever they feel the need.
