Hi, I’m Daniela, a Clinical Psychologist who graduated from the University Institute of Psychological, Social and Life Sciences – ISPA-IU.
During my professional career, I’ve been interested in the areas of mood disorders, anxiety and neurodevelopment, from childhood to adulthood, and I’ve done research into memory, such an important part of us that shapes us with every experience we have.
In order to acquire more skills in child and adolescent clinical practice, I trained in Playtherapy with Children and Adolescents at ISPA-IU.
Throughout my career, I have worked at the Hospital das Forças Armadas de Lisboa, where I carried out psychology consultations and psychological assessments, and at the Associação Humanitária de Saúde e Apoio Social in the area of sexually transmitted infections, where I carried out psychological follow-ups and screenings for these infections in order to contribute to their early detection and promote the quality of life of infected people from an early age.
I follow the psychodynamic approach in my practice, as it allows me to look at each person as a whole, taking into account every aspect of their life and history, with all the conscious and unconscious details that influence their daily lives.
It’s an approach that is born and sustained in the relationship, which contains psychic suffering and, at every step of the therapeutic process, helps them navigate it and find new resources to overcome it and find harmony in their lives, in a joint work that brings to light details that are sometimes hidden from our eyes and whose understanding is essential to the process of healing and self-knowledge.
