Child Psychology

A Childhood is a crucial stage of human development, where challenges become more intense, and children may face difficulties in mobilizing the socio-emotional skills needed to deal with them.
During this period, children are in a constant process of identifying with others, which mainly reflects their search for their own identity.
However, instead of communicating through words, they often do so through behavior, which is often difficult to decipher.

Parents and caregivers, for their part, are not always able to interpret or respond to children’s needs in the way they would like, which can increase their own insecurities and weaknesses.
This often results in a feeling of “not being up to it”, which ends up reinforcing these feelings.

Maladaptive behaviors can appear as a way for children to express problems typical of this stage, especially in interactions with those closest to them, such as parents, teachers, family and peers.
These behaviors are often a sign that something isn’t right.

The Child Psychology Consultation can be an essential tool to help both the child and the parents or caregivers understand and deconstruct these behaviors.
This therapeutic process creates a safe space where limitations and insecurities can be explored and reinterpreted, allowing the psychologist to help with the child’s internal reorganization and the attribution of new meanings to their development and identity-building process.
